What it costs to sell: fees explained

A price tag, a rupee coin and a truck on a navy background.

There is no joining fee, no membership fee, no listing fee and no ad spend. Selling costs only these:

Cost of selling = commission + GST on commission + courier charge (the courier charge only when you ship with us)

Commission

Until 31 July 2027 the commission is 0%. After that it is a percentage of your selling price, in bands:

Part of the item priceCommission
Up to Rs 5006%
From Rs 500 to Rs 1,0008%
Above Rs 1,00010%

Each band applies to the slice of the price inside it. There is a minimum of Rs 5 per item.

GST on commission

GST at 18% is charged on commission (and on any courier charge billed to you). We issue a tax invoice for it, so a GST-registered maker can claim it as input credit. During the launch offer there is no commission and so no GST on it.

Courier charge

Only when you ship with us. It is the courier's live price for your parcel, shown before you confirm and deducted from your payment, less any ship-early credit. If you ship on your own nothing is deducted: you pay your own courier directly.

Ship early, pay less

Hand the parcel over on day 1 or day 2 after you accept and the courier charge is reduced by a ship-early credit. The credit is a percentage of the value of the whole order, highest on the first part of the value: on the first Rs 500 it is 2.4% on day 1 and 1.2% on day 2; on the part from Rs 500 to Rs 1,000 it is 0.64% and 0.32%; above Rs 1,000 it is 0.3% and 0.2%. The credit can never take the courier charge below a quarter of its price. From day 3 a flat Rs 10 late fee applies (not on products you listed with extra handling days).

Ship early: day 1, day 2, day 3 and the day-4 limit
Ship early: day 1, day 2, day 3 and the day-4 limit

Tax collected at source

TCS (0.5%, only for GST-registered makers) and TDS (0.1%, or 5% if we have no PAN for you) are held from your payment and deposited for you. They are not a cost: they come back as tax credit. See GST, TCS and TDS explained.

An item at Rs 599, GST-registered maker with a PAN, picked up on day 1, courier price Rs 75, before your own costs:
